That’s a wrap for BritishSpanish events for 2022 and we certainly made sure that we ended on a high.

We were delighted to host so many of our lovely members and friends at the Christmas party. The snowy conditions meant that Hispania’s warm welcome was even more appreciated as we stepped off London’s icy streets into the restaurant’s Christmas glow.

We were treated to delicious food, plentiful beer and moreish wine, ensuring we were well fuelled for the hottest duel of the year, the Christmas carol-off. Sides were chosen, the competition weighed-up, voices warmed-up and the only 2022 World Cup Final any of us now care about began. The atmosphere remained convivial, but all participants were in it for the win. The singing was beautiful, it felt like a West-End show, but BritishSpanish Society Trustee Justin Ellis stole the show with a performance described by Patron Lady Pilar as ‘worthy of the opera’.

The audience was calmed from the fervour of the singing and with anxious anticipation the the raffle draw commenced; flights to Barcelona, precious pieces of art, meals in top restaurants and more were on offer. The winners were elated, the rest of us merely resolved to buy more tickets next time!
