Well its official as of today (see James Alexander John Burns – official Queen Honours list honours list in Telegraph and Times today) and after first kind messages below so delighted to share with you the good news that I have been recognised for my services for UK/Spain relations with my appointment/award as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE).

I owe this honour to my close family, friends, and colleagues who have supported the work of this British and Jesuit educated boy (Stonhyhurst) as a volunteer Chairman with the BritishSpanish Society and professional work as an author, and journalist. It follows the Encomienda del Mérito Civil granted to me by King Juan Carlos in 2012/2013, also for services for UK/Spain relations – an ongoing mission instilled in me from birth by my British father Tom and Spanish mother, Mabel, both beloved in memory.
Thank You y Gracias de corazón.
Jimmy Burns Marañón
