Hosted by Chief Scientific Advisor to the Department for International Trade, BSS Trustee Dr Mike Short, this special online event gathered climate experts from Britain and Spain to discuss their predictions for the forthcoming COP26 conference on climate change and to assess the actions that must be taken by government, policymakers and business leaders to address this global challenge.
You can watch the discussion online here.
The six panellists were Ana Barreira, environmental lawyer and director of IIDMA; Pilita Clark, Financial Times associate editor and business columnist; Ramiro Fernandez, director of climate change at Fundacion Avina in Argentina; Professor Jim Hall, professor of climate and environmental risks at the University of Oxford; Carlos Monreal, founder and CEO of Plastic Energy; and David Reavley, CEO of Solar Water.
The online event benefited from a wide depth of experience and weight among those attending from their homes, including from Patagonia, Madrid and London.
The panel concluded that more actions by all governments are needed, not words.
We await the best possible outcomes to save our planet.
