The BritishSpanish Society’s Dinner Club continued for another sold-out evening, this time at the beautifully appointed Hispania Kensington. Nestled in one of London’s most charming neighbourhoods, the venue welcomed twenty lucky guests into an elegant and intimate atmosphere, perfectly suited to an evening celebrating culinary and cultural fusion.

With its vibrant William Morris-inspired décor, cosy table settings, and warm lighting from delicate table lamps, Hispania offered an exquisite backdrop for an unforgettable night. Walls adorned with vintage artwork and luxurious textiles created a feeling of being welcomed into a splendid, eclectic home.

Guests were treated to a specially curated menu designed by acclaimed chef Marcos Morán and his team. The dinner began with an array of delicate bites — Crunchy Cheese Bites, Leek Croquettes, and the ever-popular Iberico Ham Croquettes — setting the tone for an evening of refined indulgence.

A refreshing monkfish and prawn salad followed, complemented by a vibrant roasted pepper and egg yolk vinaigrette. For the main course, diners had the choice between beautifully prepared wild sea bass with potato mash and smoked aubergine, or the rich, comforting Iberian acorn-fed pork cheeks served with truffle purée and chestnut. A vegetarian option featuring charred aubergine, mushroom ragout, and parsnip purée was equally delightful.

The evening culminated in a decadent homemade Spanish cheesecake featuring creamy Ibores cheese and a vibrant red berry compote — a fittingly sweet ending to a night full of laughter, lively conversations, and new friendships.

Throughout the evening, the air was filled with the sounds of clinking glasses and animated conversations as old friends reconnected and new ones were made. It was a celebration not just of food, but of the deep connections between British and Spanish cultures — a perfect reflection of the Society’s mission.
