On 2 November we’ll be joined ‘in conversation’ by Anglo-Spanish journalists Jimmy Burns Marañón and Tomás Hill López-Menchero.

BritishSpanish Society Chairman Jimmy Burns Marañón OBE enjoyed a long career as a journalist and editor. He now regularly contributes on BritishSpanish related content and, through his work as an author, on our topic for this event, football. 

Tomás Hill López-Menchero is also a BritishSpanish Society member. He has already won awards for his early work whilst at university. He is enjoying a successful journalistic career in sports and in his current role of junior sports editor at the Athletic. 

Together they’ll discuss the passionate subject of The Premier League (past, present and future) and stories from Spanish football. Audience participation in the form of a Q&A is encouraged so please come ready with your questions and comments. The event will be conducted in English, however, Spanish is also, of course, very welcome.

Following the Q&A session we’ll have time to enjoy a beer courtesy of our sponsors Mahou, and some nibbles.

Thanks to our hosts for the evening Instituto Español Vicente Cañada Blanch the event will also be available to join online.

A reduced rate is available for students in full time education to attend the event online.
