Whisky Tasting 

For many centuries whisky has been distilled in Scotland. It is alleged that the tradition and recipe migrated from the European mainland into Scotland and Ireland by traveling monks, though there is one marked difference between the Scottish and Irish version: they are separated by an “e”; in Scotch ‘whisky’ (and the spelling applies to the Canadian version) and Irish ‘whiskey’ (which also applies to the American version).

However, while many of us enjoy a tipple or a wee dram, most of us would be unable to explain much about the process or differences in styles of what has become known (testified by its monastic heritage) as the ‘water of life’.

Then we’d love for you to come and join the BritishSpanish Society’s celebration of this wonderful golden spirit and find out more about why it is now being made in Spain as well as England, Wales, the US, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, India, Australia, Finland and many other countries. We will taste some relatively unknown Scotch whiskies and perhaps discover even more unknown real Spanish malt whiskies!
