The Zoom webminar and ‘Q&A’ on “Spain: From the Spanish Flu to Covid: A historical perspective. With Sir Paul Preston CBE and Q&A with Jimmy Burns OBE” was a great success, a “lleno hasta la bandera”. The attendance of two former British ambassadors to Spain amongst an array of former students and BSS becarios , professional and other academic friends of the BritishSpanish Society from Barcelona to Madrid, via Chiclana, Liverpool, and London was tribute to the high respect to Sir Paul Preston and the enduring affection for the cause of cultural and educational engagement which is at the heart of the BritishSpanish Society mission.
